IDK, my BFF Priti?

This picture of a modern teenaged Devi was a present for my mother- and father-in-law. I wasn't sure what to draw for them at first and went through a ton of idea, but somehow this happened. I like it.

Stay Away From Da Voodoo

Warning: This post contains nipples.

'Cuz, you know, some places aren't cool with that.

Heehee.

Whoa, two posts in a day?

Crazy, right?

Thought I'd show y'all a work in progress of my draenei dancer, Zarya.

Fanart Dump

A little f'art headin' your way!

First up is Sadako and harpies from Yu+Me: Dream.

Yu+Me is almost done, so you should definitely catch the archives if you've haven't been following along!

Next is Shelly Wahnee from Wapsi Square.
I've always loved Shelly. She's fun and quirky, both a grease monkey and a girly girl and she doesn't care what people think about her body. She likes to work out and she's not going to let a bunch of naysayers stop her. I also like that she's a serious main character. Typically, if a comic shows a very muscle-bound woman, she's the comedic relief -- that silly and usually ugly man-ish woman who frightens people and can't do anything right. Luckily, that is NOT Shelly.

And last up isn't completely fanart because it's not any of the characters, but I was inspired to draw a satyr after discovering the webcomic Skindeep. Of course, my satyr needed a dance partner, so in frolicked a darling harpy, who, for some reason, is apparently a blue jay. Poor thing probably gets made fun of all the time by the other more raptor-like harpies.

Oh! And full-size is wallpaper-size.

Adult Warning

Hey there folks in Blogger-land. Here's a heads-up:

Not all the work I do is sugary sweet, though it's probably still like 95%. I also enjoy pin-up art and artistic nudity. As such, I just wanted to make a warning that I can't promise my blog will be 100% work-safe.Now, that's not to say I'm going for some hardcore pr0n or anything like that, but if you can't handle a couple boobs or whatnot, then maybe it's time to skidaddle.

Hugs and kisses!

Commission for Guildie

One of my guildies commissioned me to draw a picture of her and another guildie's characters, Pigeon and Ceph. Pigeon is an adorable street urchin who is learning to read and write, if she can get past her frustration.

If you're interested in your own character commission, send me a message at mewmuffin (at) gmail (dot) com. (It would really help with my financial situation! I like being able to eat!)
Prices are negotiable (depending on detail, of course), but in general are as follows:

Headshots: $10
Full body B&W: $20-25
Full body, color (cel-shading): $40

Usually I'll throw in a simple background or a prop, but if you want an actual background, add about $10 and we can discuss it.

How Duessa Got Her Groove Back

Or something like that.

I've been in a bit of a funk lately. My new meds make me super neurotic and I've been so fatigued...well, my art was becoming stiff and boring and I just didn't want to show it to anyone.

So I started looking through my sketchbooks to figure out what was going on. And I figured it out. I've been straying away from the comic-esque, cartoon-inspired, exaggerated style that made me want to start drawing in the first place. I was getting to bogged down in making sure the eyes weren't too big or the drawing wasn't too anime or Disney or a hundred other things that don't matter. What does matter is my artwork making me happy.

So with that in mind, I drew a picture for a guildie. And I actually like it. So much so, that I actually drew quite a few more.

Yay!

I did this for a friend's going away contest on Gaiaonline. I had fun playing around with the kind of noir comic thing, which I should admit was not the original style I intended, but I had a major photoshop failure on my desktop computer. So after a few attempts, I had to resign myself to switching computers and, lo and behold, this happened. Egas got a gritty reboot.

And I also have a couple of admittedly quick WoW-related portraits. The first is Jayren, who is apparently the lovechild of a romance novel wild man lumberjack and the Brawny paper towels dude.

And the second is Threvin, my husband's warlock who isn't that bad a person once you get past the whole demons thing.

Also, he looks like some sort of swarthy pirate-type.

More Shamoke and Amahli

I love looking at other artists' rough sketches, so I'm going to try to show my own.
These are some warm-ups I did today.

Improvement, maybe?

Because I think this is interesting...

This is a drawing I did of two characters back in 2008:

Same characters, done a month ago:

Not quite the insane, off-the-wall improvement I would want, but meh. Not too bad for having that stale time for the past couple years where I wasn't really drawing at all. I'm still trying to get my head back into the game..

I was thinking about make some ATCs for Dragon*Con, since I saw some blanks for sale at the art store. Not sure if anyone would be interested in them, though.

Am I Distracting You?

My husband is constantly asking me why I don't draw for him. Truth it, I'm always worried it won't be good enough. This is just a silly little sketch and I'm still fretting about all the missing jewelry on Shamoke. Meh.

Test 2

LJ sucks but I like the idea of having a sketch blog to post drawings both finished and otherwise. So I'm trying to decide which blog is the best for me. (ie. which is easiest to use. :p)
